BACKGROUND.
The National Education Union is the largest education union in the UK. It was formed in 2017 by the merger of the National Education Union & the Association of Teachers & Lecturers & held it’s inaugural 4-day Conference in April 2019. The conference was attended by 1,800 delegates & raised public profile through global media coverage.
REQUIREMENT.
To provide the platforms from which delegates can debate policy & to manage all production aspects. With circa 60 motions discussed over 4 days this is very much a live event, controlled by the President & as a team we must be reactive to all aspects. Conference attracts a huge amount of media attention with BBC News & Sky News broadcasting live from the conference hall. Outside of the main hall breakout sessions were held in 21 rooms across 4 venues. In 2021, we also ran a virtual event that took place over 3 days.
FEEDBACK.
“I wanted to thank you all formally for all your considerable hard work & help in making the first NEU conference go so well… …it was a massive success. Lots of people worked very hard to make it work, but you & your teams were the most key.”
